Association of Mymensingh Ex-Cadets


The official alumni association (AMEC) of the first Girls' Cadet College of Bangladesh, Mymensingh Girls' Cadet College(MGCC) was founded in March 2005 at the Cadet College Club. Following its establishment, AMEC orgnized the second reunion at Mymensingh Girls' Cadet College campus in December 2005.

Announcement regarding AGM and the new EC

There will be an annual general meeting on 9th March, Friday 2012 at 4 pm at Cadet college club premises Gulahan 2. All the members of AMEC are cordially requested to attend the program. In this connection we are happy to announce that a new executive committee is likely to be formed for next two years 2012-2014. For this reason current Executive committee has given a proposed EC panel. If there is anyone interested to give a new panel for the new Executive committee of AMEC we request you to submit the names in the following 22 posts to the current joint general secretary Shahrin Hussain Tania,c/n 303, 6th batch by 29th February 2012. If we get a new panel then we will go for an election in the coming AGM. If not then the proposed EC by the current EC members will become the next executive committee of AMEC. We request all members to consider this event as a very important one.

1) Reporting at the Bus station : 07 am
2) Start for MGCC : 07:30 am
3) Arrival at MGCC : 11:00 am
4) Morning Tea at MGCC : 11: 30 am
5) House Visit : 12:00 to 01:00 pm
6) Jummah prayer : 01:00 pm
7) Short AMEC meeting : 01:15 pm to 02:00 pm
8) Lunch : 02:30 pm
9) Sports/Entertainment : 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm
10) Prize giving and speech : 4:30
11) Evening tea : 5 pm
12) Magrib prayer : 5:15 pm

Mohammad Mortoja, the father of a one year old girl, was recently diagnosed with life threatening disease leukemia (Bone Marrow Blood Cancer). Mortoja or his fami ly members did not realise this problem until it was diagnosed on earlier this month as Doctosr initially suspected he had Dengue fever.

According to medical report from Apollo Hospital, Dhaka he is in early stages of the leukemia and needs to start treatment immediately to stop the spread out of the Cancer.

Currently, he has been taken to Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore for further treatment. According to Mortoja’s wife (Ivy), treatment will cost approximately1.20 Core (Taka) which is approximately equivalent to AUD200, 000 (Two Hundred thousand dollars).

According to Singapore Medical centre, the treatment requires Chemo therapy to cure him and the estimated cost for each Chemo that includes monitoring and medication is about 50/60 lakhs Taka.

Pioneer in Building Leaders

In 1983, the Mymensingh Girls Cadet College started its operations as the first Cadet College in Bangladesh for women. Today, 24 years after its inception, the college is being recognized as one of the best educational institutions in the country in all respects including some of the best performances in SSC and HSC examinations every year.

The district of Mymensingh is famous for many creative works from the past. Mahua, Malua, Chandrabati, Kajal Rekha, famous palas of Mymensingh Geetika have established Mymensingh as the birthplace of many source of our folklore. The district is also rich in agricultural production from the middle age. The economic solvency made the people of this region attracted towards cultural activities. The river Old Brahmaputra that flows through the district provides as a great source of water for cultivation throughout the region.
