On 12 February 2012 a group of UPDF armed cadres simultaneously conducted operation in Baghaichari upazila in Rangamati district and Dighinala upazila in Khagrachari district. In this operation, UPDF miscreants kidnapped 6 innocent villagers.
It is learnt that on that day around 10.00 pm UPDF and reformist terrorists led by Pragyan Chakma encircled the houses of following persons at Uluchari, Lalyaghona and Pagujyachari villages under Baghaichari upazila and then kidnapped them with gun point. The kidnapped innocent villagers were:
1) Samiron Chakma (38) s/o Nirmal Chandra Chakma of Uluchari village
2) Promod Bikash Chakma (37) s/o Nabin Kumar Chakma of Uluchari village
3) Bijoy Kanti Chakma (35) s/o Nagendra Chakma of West Lalyghona village
4) Jotin Chakma (32) s/o Jayanta Chakma (shopkeeper) of Pagujyachari village
5) Nila Baran Chakma (20) s/o Shashi Lal Chakma of Pagujyachari village
On the other, the UPDF armed cadres also conducted operation at Sadagichari village under Dighinala upazila. In the operation, they kidnapped following innocent villager-
6) Nayan Jyoti Chakma (32) s/o Monta Chakma of Sadagichara village.
UPDF terrorists gave a mobile number to the relatives of kidnapped persons to contact with them for releasing the kidnapped persons. The relatives tried to contact that number, but the number was unreachable.
