Moanoghar Residential School was founded in 1980 to provide education to the children sheltered in Moanoghar. It obtained accreditation from the Board of Education in 1982. For long, it was the only school in the vicinity otherwise, the students had to trudge daily 5-6 kilometers to go to the nearest school in the Rangamati town.

The school is managed by a Managing Committee, duly approved by the Government. It currently has a staff of 32, 5of which are non-teaching. The brief profiles of the teaching staff are provided below.

Ms. Eta Chakma joined Moanoghar Residential School in 2010 She teaches Mathematics and business studies and has an MA from Chittagong University.
Ms. Alo Chakma has 27 years of teaching experience and has a Bachelor of Education (B. ED) degree. She is the class teacher of class 4 for the current academic year and teaches Bengali and Social Studies.
Mr. Ananda Mitra Chakma has a Bachelor of Education degree and has been teaching in Moanoghar Residential School for the last 10 years. He is also a former student of Moanoghar (SSC Batch 1987)
Mr. Pulak Roy has an MA, besides a B.ED. degree. He has been teaching in Moanoghar Residential School for the last 25 years. He was invited by the State Department, USA as part of the 'International Visitors Programme' in 2008 in recognition of his illustrious teaching career.
Mrittika Ranjan Chakma has been teaching in Moanoghar Residential School for the last 25 years. He has an MA in Bengali literature and B. Ed. He is also a renowned cultural activist and one of the founding members of Jum Aesthetics Council (JAC), the most prominent cultural organization in the CHT. He is also a prolific writer and has written more than a dozen books of drama, poems, short stories in Chakma language. His dramas have been widely performed in the CHT, besides in the major cities (Dhaka, Chittagong) of Bangladesh.
Mr. Pabitra Moy Chakma has 26 years of teaching experience and is involved with Moanoghar Residential School since 1985. He teaches accounting and Math and has a B.ED. degree.
Mr. Khokon Bikash Barua has more than 30 years of teaching experience. He has a B. ED. At present he assumes the responsibility of the Assistant Head Teacher.
Mr. Shanti Moy Chakma is involved with Moanoghar and Moanoghar Residential School since mid-1980. Besides his teaching career, he is a well-known cultural activist in the CHT and is one of the founding members of JAC. He is a writer and has produced a number of dramas in Chakma language. He has an BA (hons) in English literature from Chittagong University and also a B. Ed.
Mr. Arun Kanti Chakma has a BA degree and teaches in the primary section.
Mr. Mihir Kanti Chakma teaches Math and has a B.ED degree.
Mr. Shishir Kanti Chakma has an MA in Bengali literature from Chittagong University and a B. Ed. He has been involved with Moanoghar and Moanoghar Residential School since 1988. He is also a founding member of JAC and a well-known cultural activist. He has a number of publications – poems, essays, drama – in Bengali and Chakma.
Mr. Sudarshi Chakma teaches in the primary section of the school. He also has special degree in Pali and Sanskrit studies.
Mr. Arun Kanti Chakma is the physical education teacher and is the class teacher of class VI.
Mr. Jatil Bihari Chakma teaches science and has an M Sc. in Statistics from Chittagong University and also a B. Ed. He is also a former student of Moanoghar.
Ms. Dipta Dewan has a B. Ed and teaches in primary and secondary section.
Mr. Ching Sanu Marma joined Moanoghar Residential School in 2010. He has an M. Sc. from Chittagong University. He also currently assuming the responsibility of hostel caretaker for Bimal Bansa Bhavan.
Mr. Batayan Chakma has a B. Ed. and is a former student of Moanoghar (SSC batch: 1986).
Mr. Arupan Bikash Barua has a B. Ed and has been teaching in Moanoghar Residential School since 1993. He is also a former student of Parbatya (Batch: 1985).
Ms. Chinmoyee Chakma joined Moanoghar Residential School recently in 2011. She has an MA in English literature.
Mr. Dipayon Chakma has a B. Ed. and is a former student of Moanoghar (SSC Batch 1990)
Ms. Archana Talukder has a B. Ed. She teaches both in the primary and junior sections.
Ms. Goirika Chakma has BA (Hons) and MA from Chittagong University along with a B. Ed. She has been teaching in Moanoghar Residential School since early 1980s.
Mr. Amal Kumar Talukder has a B. Sc and B. Ed and teaches science and math. He is teaching in Moanoghar Residential School from 1983.
Ms. Padma Debi Chakma teaches in the primary section.
Mr. Jhimit Jhimit Chakma has B. Sc. from Chittagong University and also a B. Ed. He is involved with Moanoghar and Moanoghar Residential School over 25 years, as teacher, house tutor and in the Executive Committee. He was appointed as Head Teacher in 2010. He is also a well-known cultural personality in the CHT, a founding member of JAC and a prolific writer. His theatre pieces are widely performed across the region and he has been participating in most major drama/theatre festivals of Bangladesh, as a writer, theatre producer and director and performing arts specialist.
